Kendra,

You are not bothering me! I am glad to help!

There are two lists of the Apostles given in the Gospels. They are:

Luke 6:13-16 And when it was day, he called unto him his disciples: and of them he chose twelve, whom also he named apostles; (14) Simon, (whom he also named Peter,) and Andrew his brother, James and John, Philip and Bartholomew, (15) Matthew and Thomas, James the son of Alphaeus, and Simon called Zelotes, (16) And Judas the brother of James, and Judas Iscariot, which also was the traitor.

Matthew 10:2-4 Now the names of the twelve apostles are these; The first, Simon, who is called Peter, and Andrew his brother; James the son of Zebedee, and John his brother; (3) Philip, and Bartholomew; Thomas, and Matthew the publican; James the son of Alphaeus, and Lebbaeus, whose surname was Thaddaeus; (4) Simon the Canaanite, and Judas Iscariot, who also betrayed him.

So, that makes the twelve:

1 Simon, who is called Peter

2 Andrew

3 James

4 John

5 Philip

6 Bartholomew

7 Matthew

8 Thomas

9 James the son of Alphaeus

10 Simon called Zelotes, also known as Simon the Canaanite

11 Judas the brother of James, also known as Lebbaeus, whose surname was Thaddaeus

12 Judas Iscariot

When Judas commited suicide, he was replaced by Matthias.

Acts 1:23-26 And they appointed two, Joseph called Barsabas, who was surnamed Justus, and Matthias. (24) And they prayed, and said, Thou, Lord, which knowest the hearts of all men, shew whether of these two thou hast chosen, (25) That he may take part of this ministry and apostleship, from which Judas by transgression fell, that he might go to his own place. (26) And they gave forth their lots; and the lot fell upon Matthias; and he was numbered with the eleven apostles.

I hope that this is helpful.

Guy
